Janet Maybin

Janet Maybin is a senior Lecturer in Language and Communication, at the Faculty of Education and Language Studies of Open University UK.

She has worked and published extensively on:

·         Linguistic ethnography in schools

·         Peer-group talk

·         Children’s informal literacy practices

·         Ethnography of literacy

·         Creativity in talk and informal literacy

She is an active member of the British Association of Applied Linguistics and is on the steering group for the UK Linguistic Ethnography Forum.

Keith Richards

University of Warwick, UK

Keith Richards researches in the area of professional interaction and has a particular interest in educational contexts.

His recent publications include:

Qualitative Inquiry in TESOL (Palgrave 2003),

Applying Conversation Analysis (edited with Paul Seedhouse, Palgrave 2005), and

Language and Professional Identity (Palgrave 2006).
